Hey sweet friends! Valentine's Day is right around the corner and I can't even believe it! But my question is...aren't you tired of the traditional let's go out to dinner for valentine's day with a million other people? I wanted to share some of my ideas for some non-traditional plans for V-day this year! To top if off, I want to share a few outfits I think will be perfect for your V-day this year.

A Night In
This is my favorite option....have a night in with your loved one. Chad and I have done this so many years for Valentine's Day because we hate all the chaos of trying to go out to dinner at a restaurant. We head to our local grocery store and pick a juicy steak and pair with our favorite sides. We make sure to pick up a great bottle of wine ...usually Malbec is our absolute go to and a special dessert...maybe brownies we bake, cookies or a tub of ice cream haha! We usually will make a night of it and cook our V-day dinner together and it is really special. We spend quite some time cooking together and talking then we get to sit down and relax in the comfort of our own home and indulge on the great meal we made together. And to make it even more fun, dress up. Just because you don't go out to a local restaurant doesn't mean you can't dress up. I think it would be fun to get dressed up and enjoy each other in your own home. Create an evening you don't usually have at home. Most likely this will be the option we choose this year!
Call your best Gal
Some of my favorite V-day memories are with my best gals. I remember one year in college we ordered our favorite food..most likely sushi and grabbed a bottle of wine and sat in our dorm room and played Apples to Apples....I'd probably graduate to Cards Against Humanity, but Apples to Apples was really fun, too! I have never laughed so hard in my life. So, call up your favorite gals and have a game night with a few cocktails. You'll be sure to create some special memories.
Puzzle
I know this sounds kind of silly, but grab a puzzle and head to town! This is something that Chad and I have also spent nights doing...When we were first together we were constantly on a tight budget, but we wanted to do activities that we could afford...being on a budget with no money doesn't really leave many options. So, we sometimes would grab a puzzle! It's a great cheap option to sit down and accomplish together. Hobby Lobby has some really great puzzle options! Usually, we would get a difficult one that way it would take a few hours and we would make cocktails and just sit down and talk and work on our puzzle. It honestly is a really great way to make sure you put away your other distractions (like your phone) and just focus on the task at hand and work together. I know its cheesy, but I love this option so much.
Treat Yourself Single this year? NO WORRIES! It's time to take care of you and love yourself. Just because you're not in a relationship on a Hallmark holiday...don't even sweat it. You should be your number one and do something that makes you happy. Treat yourself. I'm an only child so I love my alone time. There are many times when Chad and I will sit in separate rooms in the house and have some "me" time...I think its really good and healthy for yourself to have those moments. Go to Walgreens and pick up your favorite candy or just rent a movie... schedule a massage....just choose something to relax. Do what makes you happy. If it were me, I would grab some candy and most likely take a bubble bath then binge watch my favorite tv shows. Now that sounds like a perfect night.
I hope you liked some of those "non-traditional" options...sometimes the simple things in life can make the best memories. Now, if you choose to take a night out on the town ...you probably want to look like a million bucks for your significant other or your best friends...here are some of my favorite looks right now that would be amazing for Valentine's Day!
Thanks friends! I hope you found some of your V-day inspiration from Simply Jor.
As always, thanks for reading.
With love,
Jor
