The Perfect OTK Boot

Happy Halloween my loves! I hope you have lots of special activities planned with your loved ones. Tomorrow is Chad and I's 3 year anniversary ...so we plan on taking it easy tonight and celebrating tomorrow & this weekend.

Today I wanted to highlight my favorite pair of over the knee boots for the season. To be completely honest....I was super nervous about buying these boots.. I felt like they were completely out of my comfort zone and I didn't know if I could "pull them off." But, honestly when it comes to fashion... YOU SHOULD MAKE THE RULES. If you like it, buy it, wear it... don't worry about what anyone is going to think. That is why I love clothes and fashion so incredibly much because it is an amazing way of expressing yourself and feeling so good in your own skin.

To say the least....I am super happy that I bought these boots. I have worn them so many times I think my toes have gone permanently numb in my left foot, but it is totally worth it haha! I wanted to share some of the ways I have been styling these boots this fall. The best part, they make my legs feel like they look thin..which I love anything thats going to make these legs of mine look tall and slim! You guys are going to LOVE these!

The style that I bought were from DSW ... I truly have NO idea what brand they are...they didnt have any brand tags anywhere on the boot and they were in a random brown box on the clearance rack....They had a purple tag for $99.00, but they were having some amazing deal on clearance that day I bought them and you guys.......I got them for ONLY $30....I mean I don't know how you find a better deal than that. You HAVE HAVE to look at the clearance rack when you are at DSW...the deals that they have sometimes are insane.

These boots are under $80...and yes, they are more expensive than the crazy deal I found, but those deals don't happen every day...I just was extremely lucky....these boots are worth every single penny of the $80. Lets talk about how to style these amazing OTK boots. 1st up... You can totally make these casual. You don't have to wearing some dressy dress to be able to rock these babies. I paired mine with a contrasting pair of jeans and a modern crew tee from the GAP. This is soooo simple, but yet a stunning look. You could wear this for a day out on the town sight seeing or even transition it into date night. Sometimes less is more ladies!

Next up! First thing I want to talk about is not about the boots, but this dress......I LOVE THIS DRESS! I have tried to buy this dress on 4 different occasions and every single time it sells out! You have to pick up this dress before its too late! And y'all it comes in 6 colors! I mean how perfect? Click on the picture to shop this dress. Pretty much every blogger on Instagram has this dress because they KNOW how AMAZING it is! Its only $59 ladies and its not a thin material...its thicker...it doesn't feel like a $59 dress..it is such good quality.

I love these OTK boots with this dress and a big chunky cardigan. I would feel comfortable wearing this look to any family event, church, or drinks with the girls. I think adding the chunky cardigan to this look is the perfect add with these booties. You could wear this look for Fall and Winter.

I picked up this cardi from Target for $30 and it is so warm and cozy! It comes in a grey and an olive green color. You can shop the cardi here. Brickwood also has the most perfect long cardigan that they just got in store if you don't pick this one up from Target.

3rd look - paired with a chunky lace up sweater. You could pair these boots with ANY chunky sweater. I think it is a great contrast to have a big chunky sweater with these slimming OTK boots. I love this look because I paired the boots with a little darker jeans. I think this outfit can serve as casual look or for a night out. This look can easily transition from day to night for anyone. The lace up sweater adds that extra detail to make things a little dressier for this casual chunky sweater.

Next up is this beautiful backless sweater. I actually didn't wear the OTK boots with this look when I wore this sweater out to date night...and I am thinking to myself now....WHY NOT!? I think I wore flats...like why... This backless sweater is so gorgeous and it would have been the perfect look for date night. Especially, the high pony tail adds a little bit of flare to the entire look. If you have ever been worried about wearing a backless sweater because you feel like you need a bra....I get it! But, let me tell you all your problems are solved with a lace bandeau top. I wore this low knot backless sweater with a black bandeau top and I think it added a little something more. The lace is a dainty and sexy add in my opinion. Also, if you don't want your entire back showing and don't want so much skin exposed...add a bandeau! It's the perfect fix for any backless top.

I got this beauty of a sweater from my favorite boutique in the world, Brickwood! If you follow me on the reg...you KNOW I am obsessed with this boutique. Y'all ....this may be my favorite look yet! I love hats....loooovvveeee them. I'm all about not washing my hair everyday and styling my hair with my secret weapon....Dove Dry Shampoo....Ladies, throw some dry shampoo in that hair and put on a hat and you are out the door in 15 minutes! This is my go-to look when I am on trips. Sometimes I dilly dally around and procrastinate getting ready. Therefore, friends I am traveling with are usually waiting on me to get ready. Like, who wants to travel with the chick that takes 2 hours to get ready...no one. I have totally become aware of this and have been looking for simple hacks to speed up my getting ready process.....HATS are KEY!

I lost the chunky sweater here and paired with a wool felt hat. This is another item I used to be worried about wearing. Rock it...literally I get so many compliments when I wear my wool felt hats. It's an accessory that is sometimes overlooked and it is a fabulous add to take a look to a solid 10. And finally....this is probably my favorite look in these boots. This is a look for special occasions. I wore this outfit in New Orleans, LA ....which I thought was perfect. I was able to easily walk around Beale street in these boots all night long. They have some boots just like these at DSW that have a chunkier heel which would most likely make them more comfortable if you are worried about that. But, I thought these worked perfectly for me. I received so many compliments in this look and I was even recognized by Target in this outfit and they shared my look on their InstaStories!! Talk about a very rewarding moment for starting this blog.... I mean ladies, TARGET is LIFE. To be highlighted by them...I was soooo incredibly flattered.

I think the best thing is there are SOOO many versions of these right now. They have some with a slimmer heel, like what I own...then some are the chunky heel as I mentioned earlier...then they ALSO have some they are flats! They literally have every style for what everyone may be looking for.
