Happy Monday! Today I wanted to do something a little different and play 25 questions with y'all. After writing my 10 things you probably don't know about me post...I had a few friends write me to tell me that they didn't learn anything new...sooooo maybe playing 25 questions will stump all of you. Haha!
It's totally a Monday and I just wanted to have a light and fun blog post. I hope y'all enjoy.
1. Earliest Childhood Memory?
I used to live in Taiwan so.. I feel like that would be my earliest childhood memory. I remember my mom taking me and the neighborhood kids to 7-11 to get Slurpee's.
2. My guilty pleasure?
I would have to say shopping, which isn't a surprise...But, I love walking around a home décor store just looking....I don't have to buy anything... I just like to look.
3. Personality trait that I am proud of?
I am really proud of the fact that I am a compassionate person. I feel for others more than they would ever know. I genuinely care about the people that I surround myself with and it breaks my heart when I don't receive the same love back. I get my feelings hurt VERY easily and I wish I was a little tougher, but I am glad that I am a person that I would do anything for anyone if they needed me to. I think that is why I got into Human Resources because I wanted to help and grow people in the best way I knew how.
4. Fave food or dish?
I love sushi more than anything. BUT, I love a good homemade dish. I really miss my grandma Darter's brown beans and cornbread dish. When I think of the ultimate comfort food...I think anything that she made. I really do miss her and I wish I would have spent more time with her cooking so I could make some of the stuff now.
Also, I just can't narrow it down...I LOVE noodles and tomatoes. I know this sounds strange, but from what I can remember...my mom wasn't this amazing cook or anything, but she made something called noodles and tomatoes. You just make your normal macaroni noodles and then you top it with stewed tomatoes. It is so simple, but it is delicious. Chad is so sweet ...for Mother's day, he knows how much I Miss my mom...he bought me pink roses (which was my mom's favorite) and he bought me the ingredients to make noodles and tomatoes because he knows how much I loved her making me that dish.
5. Piercing or tattoos?
Honestly, probably neither. I don't mind if someone else has them, but they just aren't for me. The tattoo thing is REALLY too much for me...im just worried I will regret whatever I choose to get. If I do ever pull the trigger and get one...it would need to be something in honor of my mom.
6. First celebrity crush?
Well, I have had many! Haha But, the first one that I can remember would probably be Josh Hartnett. He played "Danny" in Pearl Harbor and this is where I fell in love with him. I was only 11 when that movie came out.
NOW - my top celebrity crushes would be Ryan Reynolds and Channing Tatum....and of course, Luke Bryan.
7. Most proud moment?
My proudest moment...this is really hard for me. If you know me.. you probably know I am EXTREMELY hard myself. I always feel like I could have done better or I wish I would have handled a situation differently. I just lack self-confidence and this is the one thing I get so aggravated with. But, if I would have to choose...it would probably be an overall moment...My mom passed away when I was pretty young and my dad was living in another country and I just didn't have a ton of guidance growing up...or more like...I probably ignored the people that were trying to guide me. I didn't make the best decisions in high school, but I am just very proud that in all the difficult times that I have dealt with...I have never turned to substance abuse. I just tried to do things to prove people wrong and show them that I could be successful even though all the cards I was dealt probably said I would fail. I have a wonderful family, a great husband, a successful job, and I am doing something I love. I would say that is something to be proud of.
8. Bonus: Share an Old Photo of me

9. If I won the lottery?
If I won the lottery....seriously who knows what they would REALLY do, but lets pretend that I wouldn't go on a huge shopping spree.... I would probably just pay off any debt I would have... and most likely buy a vacation home somewhere...and potentially invest in something. Boring, I know.... But, I know I would not want to buy some HUGE house that I wouldn't be able to afford down the road...I would just want to pay off the house I am building now!
10. Favorite Quote?
As I said earlier, I didn't make some of the best choices in my life. I made poor decisions for myself and to others. As I got older ...I realized that I needed to change and I try to live by this quote:
"It doesn't matter who you used to be; what matters is who you decide to be today. You are not your mistakes. You are not your mishaps. You are not your past. You are not your wounds. You can decide differently today and at every moment. Remember that. You are offered a new opportunity with each breath to think, choose, decide and act differently in a way that supports you in being all that you are capable of being. You are not less than. You are enough."
11. Timeline of my day?

Orange Theory Fitness or Workout at home
Dinner
Watch my favorite TV shows/Blog
Sleep...Zzzzzzzzzzzz

13. Favorite Book?
Gone Girl ...im not a huge reader, but I was obsessed with this book and it is even cooler that the movie was filmed in my hometown of Cape Girardeau, MO
14. My worst habit?
Running late because I procrastinate getting ready... or popping my knuckles before I am about to do something that I am nervous about...
15. Where I want to be in 10 years?
I want to be back living in my hometown of Cape Girardeau with my husband and we do want a family...I know life is too short and I want to be back with the people I love most...I feel like I miss out on way to much... which transitions into the next question perfectly....
16. Something I miss?
I miss home. 100% ...as much as I wanted to get out of that small town when I graduated high school...there is something about that place that keeps pulling me back. It has almost been 10 years since I left...I would eventually like to move back one day. It has to be the right time, the right opportunity and the right situation for our family. ALTHOUGH, I LOVE living in Florida and all the opportunities I have had... I just am so sad to keep missing out on special moments with my family.
17. Favorite Song?

19. A difficult time in my life?
Probably in high school. Just trying to transition into getting into college, etc. Managing that process was difficult for me...luckily my ice skating coach was able to guide me in the best way possible and I got into my dream school of Mizzou!
20. Best physical feature?
Like I said before...im pretty self-conscious...but, I do love my hair. My hair has never been hard to grow and it is thick enough to do some super cute stuff with. I struggle with the color sometimes because I am a natural blonde and I don't want it to be too "icy blonde," but I don't want it to pull strawberry either because red hair runs in my family.
21. What makes me feel better, always?
Food! Which may NOT be always the best thing haha, but it does make me happy.
22. Last time I cried?
Last Friday...
23. Top thing on my bucket list?
Probably anything that has to do with traveling. I have a few places I want to visit that I haven't been before. One of them in particular is Santorini Greece.
24. Most embarrassing moment?
I'm sure I have a ton, but one that comes to mind is...I walked into a screen door at my friends' house and it left like an imprint of my face from my makeup I guess on their screen...
25. Favorite family tradition?
Every Christmas Eve we have Christmas at my mom's parents house... both of my grandparents have passed now...so this tradition has changed a little bit, but we always ate dinner then would open up gifts. Before we open gifts...we always read "The Christmas Story" from the bible...each grandkid would take turns reading the story and Grandpa would always ask each grandkid to read. This is a tradition that I want to carry in my home once Chad and I have a family.
Well, with these 25 random questions...I hope everyone learned at least 1 thing new about me that they didn't know.
Please direct message me with something you would like me to write about next on the blog.
As always....
With love,
Jor
