My Top 5 Beauty Products of All Time

Hi, gals! I’m so sorry it has been so long since my last blog post, but I have been crazy busy traveling! I am currently trying to get back into my normal schedule and have a good routine again! That is until the next big trip to New Orleans in mid-October! Haha.

I thought I would share my top 5 beauty products that I cannot live without. These 5 products are products I CANNOT travel without. These are the key things I am packing in my suitcase. I have been using all of these products for years and they are all reasonably priced.

#1 Dove Dry Shampoo

• This is my #1 beauty product of all time. I seriously can’t live without it and if I forget it while I am traveling.... I have to immediately head to the store to buy a can. I will buy like 5 of these at a time from Target. Sometimes when you buy multiple dove products from Target you can walk out of the store with a $5 gift card - I say thats a win, win!

• I use dry shampoo when my hair is clean and when my hair is a little dirty and needs some love. It will leave your hair looking and feeling washed and refreshed without having to actually hop in the shower and wash/blow dry your hair! It is perfect when you are in a hurry and you need to be on the go.

• I mean lets be real here....who can wash and blow dry their hair every dang day of their life!? If you do, props to you and please tell me how you manage your time, but for me and my busy schedule this is the ultimate secret weapon that fixes all my problems! It helps absorb any excess oil from your hair that you may have between washes.

• But, you may be wondering “Why does she use it on clean hair?” Well, let me tell you - I have extremely straight hair. So, I struggle with that extra lift and volume that every gal wants. I mean the higher the hair, the closer to God, right?! I will blow dry and curl my hair and to finish things off, I grab my favorite Dove Dry Shampoo (Volume & Fullness Bottle; pictured above) and I take and spray about an inch and half away from my roots. Don’t overdo it because you will leave your hair feeling gritty and not fresh. But, spraying a little across your roots and around the hairline will give it that extra volume you are looking for. Then, finish with hairspray and you are set to hit the town. Not to mention, this dry shampoo smells WONDERFUL and people will comment on how great your hair smells all night long. Little do they know…most of the time I am thinking to myself…..Dirty hair, don’t care! :)

#2 HOT TOOLS: NanoCeramic 1 1/4” Salon Tapered Iron - Extended Barrel

• I believe this is the perfect size wand. It gives you those fabulous beachy waves that every girl is looking for. The curl is not too tight and you are able to comb it out to keep that bounce that you need. Did I mention this is the ONLY curling iron that fully holds curls in my hair? I don’t know what the magic is that is happening through this curling iron, but thank you Hot Tools for saving my life!

#3 Kylie Lip Kit in Candy K

• Candy K is a warm pinky nude color. My lips are an extremely light color - I love a good nude lipstick, but it doesn't do enough for me so this color gives me a little something extra with the pinky tone.

• I know it sounds funny to absolutely love a Kardashian product, but Kylie did something amazing with this lip kit. I probably purchased my lip kit a year ago and I am still using the first one I purchased - talk about getting your money’s worth! I can literally apply it one time and it is on for the entire night and I never have to reapply - which I LOVE! In the lip kit you receive a matte liquid lipstick and a matching lip liner. I just love how everything is in the package and I don’t have to search for a color I like then go find the matching liner. Kylie has perfectly created everything in one package for you at an affordable price!

• Lets talk about the liner: It has sort of a creamy texture that applies very easily to your lips. Sometimes when I apply liners - they are extremely rough and it’s like trying to color on sandpaper. This is super soft and comfortable to apply. The pencil sharpens very easily and it fits a standard sized sharpener. So, you don’t have to purchase anything special to be able to sharpen this liner.

• Lets talk about the Lipstick: It gives you a bold matte lip. If you like something a little glossier, this specific Kylie lip kit color on its own, may not be the best for you. BUT, I have a simple hack for you to make it the lip kit of your dreams! Sometimes if I want a more glossy look, I just put a clear gloss over it to give my lips that perfect shiny finish. This lipstick is EXTREMELY long wearing and it has ingredients in it that helps to moisturize the lips so you don’t have that stiff and dry matte lip stain feeling.

#4 m-61 Powerspot Clear

• THANK YOU M-61 for this product!!! Have you ever been traveling and you wake up with a zit before one of your special events? I have! This PowerSpot Clear by m-61 takes care of the problem ASAP.

#5 Beauty Blender

• A beauty blender is a non-disposable sponge applicator that you apply your makeup with. It is extremely easy to clean and can be used for a really long time. Usually I pitch them once they start to break...but, that could take 6 months plus!

• Ever apply makeup with a brush or your hands and you end up having really bad makeup lines? This product is going to solve all your makeup line issues! It helps blend the makeup into your skin to evenly apply a flawless application. The only thing you need to make sure you do when you apply make up with a beauty blender, make sure it is DAMP. You don't ever want to apply make up with a dry beauty blender because the make up will not "soak" into your skin as much. Therefore you end up wasting a lot of product. Making sure your beauty blender is damp is going to give it more of that airbrush perfect look that we all want and love!
